Producers & Founders

Jennifer Freed PhD, MFT, and Rendy Freedman, MFT, are the founders and co-directors of AHA!

They bring over 40 years of combined experience working with young people. Rendy Freedman was the founder of a private school in Santa Barbara, California, and Jennifer Freed was the director of a statewide media project for teenagers, which was highly acclaimed on national television. Both are licensed family therapists, psychology professors, and trained mediators.

The Academy of Healing Arts (AHA!) for Teens is a project of The Family Therapy Institute (FTI).

The Family Therapy Institute is a non-profit organization founded in 1980 to serve individuals, couples, children, and families in our community; to train professionals in the use of effective therapies, and to educate the public about issues relevant to the family's improved health and well-being.
